Many of us believe that we don’t have time for so many things in our lives but the reality in fact is very different. What I am referring to here specifically is the lunch break and learning to understand just how much you could get done in this hour. When it comes to actually eating lunch, for most of us this takes around 10 or 15 minutes max, which gives us so much more which we are able to do with this space. If you find yourself wasting that lunch break, here are just some of the things which you can do to really turn it into a more productive use of your time.

Get New Glasses

In what is really a technological marvel, a one hour eyeglass service could very well be a smart use of your lunch break. Believe it or not you can actually have new glasses made and framed within the hour. This means that you can drop off your prescription at the beginning of your lunch break, head off for a walk and to enjoy some food and then come back to find your new glasses ready for you, an amazing use of your time.

Few of us read as much as we would like to, and that is why this presents a perfect time to do just that. Let’s say that you open the book and enjoy your meal as you are doing so, there is no reason why you couldn’t read at least 20 or 30 pages of a book during your lunch break. If you multiply that by the 5 breaks that you get each week, this could see you read almost an entire book in the week, using only your lunch time.

Call Loved Ones

Many of us are guilty of not staying in touch with our loved ones as much as we would like, and the lunch break is the absolute perfect time to do just that. If you call a family member or friend each day for 20 minutes, then at the end of the week you will have made sure that you kept in touch with 5 people a week, perfect.

A great number of people don’t like to exercise during their lunch break because they don’t want to come back to work sweaty and they won’t have time for a shower. This is not to say that you cannot exercise however and there are so many ideas that you could try which will not leave you a sweaty mess. For example you could try low impact exercises like yoga and pilates. These exercises will improve your core and your flexibility and they are very easy to take on during your lunch break. Exercising does not mean that you have to work up a sweat, and in most cases a brisk walk will be enough to burn off some calories over lunch time.

As you can see, there are plenty of options when it comes to that daily hour.
