“This is my pet of the week submission!
On my long drive home yesterday I almost ran over this poor pup. No collar…no other puppies..no houses nearby! She had poked her head out of the tall grass and weeds on the highway and I immediately pulled over! It took a few minutes and some nips from her tiny mouth before she let me pick her up and take her back to the car. I happened to have a collapsible crate in my car that I use for my cat. I got a good look at her then, figured out she was a girl, about 6 or 7 weeks old, covered in fleas, ticks, and sandspurs, had worms, and was very dirty. I knew that she was coming home with me by then! Got her home, gave her a bath and pulled all those sandspurs and ticks off of her. So far she has been just the sweetest puppy! We think she is a jack russel mix, but with a little something else in there! We love her already!
